These boots were made for walkin'

Has this happened to you?  You go shoe shopping, see the perfect boots to go with an outfit you've been dying to wear, you actually find your size, you slip your foot in, you start pulling it up and then BAM! its stuck.  You can't get it up over your calf!!  I have had to leave countless boots in the store because of this!!  Well finally designers have gotten hip to the curvy calf and have starting making boots with wider calves.  Here are a few of the ones that I have found!

Ashley Stewart is launching its new line of luxurious lingerie with an even sexier price tag... Every piece is under $32.50.  Now you remember when Jill Scott teamed up with Ashley Stewart to promote her "Butterfly" bra.  This bra had two straps in the back to help hide unsightly back rolls.  I tried this bra on when it first came out..#fell in love.  So if this new line is anything like that.. we are in for a treat!


Now if you've never worn an Ashley Stewart bra I suggest you go to a store and try it out.  I like the designs and patterns of their full coverage, every day wear bras.  However, I do not like their strapless bras.  They made my girls look at least 2 cup sizes bigger.  My strapless dress actually looked better braless.  But the matching bra and panty sets are very cute and there are some very sexy sets that are attention grabbers!!

Winter Smooch- Keep your pout kissably soft

During the harsh winter months, our skin loses moisture and become dry and dull. The same thing can happen with our lips, regardless of how much lipgloss we pile on!  To help combat the winter curse, here are tips NYC celebrity make-up artist Tamara Palumbo had for Cosmo readers (Cosmopolitan Dec 2011)


Prep:
Clean lips with eye-makeup remover.  Because it is formulated to remove eyeliner gently, it will dissolve pigment without leaving lips chapped.


Technique:
1.  Exfoliate damp lips with a toothbrush (regular or electric) for 30 seconds in a circular motion.  This sloughs dead cells and stimulates circulation, so lips appear fuller.




2.  Pat lips dry, and smooth on balm ten petroleum jelly.  The double layer locks in moisture and plumpness.  Leave it on like a mask for 10 minutes.




3.  Blot your mouth with a tissue until lips feel hydrated but no longer slick. Lip stains (the next step) stick best to a smooth, dry (unwet, not dehydrated) surface


4.  Outline your mouth with the tip of a lip-stain pen (they offer tons of pigment but won't wear kiss off).  The closer you stay to the edge, the bigger lips will look. 

5.  Now tilt the pen, and fill the area inside the lip border with its chubbier side using long, even strokes.  Once color has dried, seal it with a hydrating balm.












*My experience with a lip stain has not been a successful one.  I tried a pink lip stain and to my dismay it did not show up.  Hopefully you will have a better experience than I did ~ PattyMayo

Fresh Whisky Sours

Tap the bottle for good luck BEFORE YOU START-

3/4 cup whiskey (recommended: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey)

• 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (4 lemons)
• 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (4 limes)
• 2/3 cup sugar syrup (see note)
• Ice cubes
• Maraschino cherries

Put the lime in the coconut and MIX IT ALL UP-

Combine the whiskey, lemon juice, lime juice, and syrup. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and pour in the drink mix 2/3 full. Shake for 15 seconds and pour into glasses. Add a maraschino cherry and serve ice cold.

Note: To make the sugar syrup, bring 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a boil, and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved. Chill before using.

Funky patterns make any dress unique and stand out in the crowd.  Many times we tend to shy away from bright pattens and prints because it "makes us look bigger".  This is not always true.  Many patterns with different cuts can be very flattering.


By wearing darker patterns you can still get that slimming effect of wearing solid dark colors.  Also animal prints, such as leopard, in other colors than neutral colors can also be very flattering.  Since animal print is in style, try a leopard in blue or zebra in red; it'll definitely catch the eye of every man in the room!


Patterns that are asymmetrical or accentuate one part of the body can also help hide problem areas or flatter another.  If your top heavy, find a dress or skirt with a heavy pattern to help slim your waist and hips and balance your top and bottom out.  If your a figure 8 girl like the model at the top, an all over pattern will look great on you and not put over emphasis on your top or bottom half.


So don't be scared to try that daring, sexy dress with a risque pattern on it.  Be bold with a bold pattern!
